The Process Of Testing Through Labdash

From start to finish, the “life” of a test kit through a lab.

Step 1: Engage with Your Clients

Getting started in LabDash is easy. When you sign up as a lab, we will help you get our system integrated into your process. From there, ask your clients to register their own accounts. They will be prompted to get in contact with you to verify and enable their accounts.

At any time your clients and patients can reach out on our Contact Us form to get in contact with you. When they select your lab to receive their message, you will see it in your messages list and have the ability to respond. Not to worry though, if a message is too LabDash-technical for your team, you can escalate it to LabDash IT and we will handle it for you.

Step 2: Configure and Release Test Kits

To begin testing, you first have to build and release test kit orders, which you will send out to your provider and sponsor clients. Orders contain a series of barcodes configured by test type, collection method, coverage type, ordering provider, and other screening questions that may be unique to each batch of kits.

A program management tool can be used to support at-home and repeat testing programs offered by the lab. You can also use a shipment builder to create test kit packages to be mailed out.

Step 3: Collect Samples

Your clients and patients receive their kits and begin testing.

The patient can either collect their sample specimen on their own or with a provider. In LabDash, the sample’s barcode is scanned, connected to the patient’s account, and submitted with screening data configured for the test. Data collection can be entered by any user associated with the test, and requires a signature consent to testing.

Step 4: Receive Collected Samples

When samples return to the lab, you can quickly scan each sample barcode into LabDash, which provides a notice of receipt at the lab.

At this stage you can have all sample data pulled into an external system for processing, or you can use LabDash batch building and run building systems to process the tests.

Extensive troubleshooting tools are provided for various error and cancellation scenarios, which enable you to connect with your clients if follow-up is needed to process the test.

Step 5: Process Tests

To process tests in LabDash, your lab will accession samples into batches for extraction, and you can group samples for pooling as appropriate. Batches, pools, previous runs, or individual samples are placed into a run builder according to the system configuration being used to produce results. LabDash generates benchsheets and system specific documents as needed to process tests.

You may also choose to run samples externally from LabDash. In this case your account can be configured to manually or automatically transfer data from one system to another.

Step 6: Report Results

Once results are processed, you review the generated results, assesses any need for re-runs, and can choose to report verified results. When results are officially completed and reported, LabDash instantly notifies the users attached to each test that results are available in their account. The Patient, Provider, and Sponsor attached to the test can receive an email or SMS notification. No PHI is ever shared in these notifications to ensure privacy of testing information.

Step 7: Handle Billing and Compliant Reporting

LabDash provides a powerful customizable interface for generating and downloading reports of all the data attached to your tests, patients, and clients. After reporting tests, you can use this interface to pull data for analytical or compliant reporting needs.

You also have the ability to manage pricing and payment settings for each of your clients. A billing interface is provided to enable generating invoices, creating reports for insurance, and gathering necessary information from patients.

Step 8: Monitor Business Analytics

Over time it’s great to see how your testing services are being used. LabDash’s Analytical Reporting feature provides a series of graphical summaries of your client testing and billing data for any period of time. Your account can be set up to share these reports to a list of people on a regular basis.
